The “Spatio-temporal Data Infrastructure” is the foundation and compendium of cultural memory projects, especially urban memory projects. In recent years, various GLAM cultural memory institutions, historical Geography and Semantic Web field have own research and application results. Digital Humanities provides ideas, methods and technologies for the deep integration of various fields. The purpose of this study is to carry out the top-level design from the functional requirements, integrate and mash -up the existing achievements in various fields, and form the functional requirements framework of Spatio-temporal Data Infrastructure for supporting urban memory projects.Based on the methods of related works investigation, summary designed and case study, a four-tier architecture of Spatio-temporal Data Infrastructure is designed and implemented from the demand. The Spatial-temporal Data Infrastructure supportingt he urban memory projects is sorted into four independent and interdependent levels: the construction of Spatio-temporal data in the carrier layer of cultural memory, the construction of time and place name controlled vocabulary, the construction of integrated HGIS support platform, the development of research tools and application services.Taking the projected of “Shanghai Memory” of Shanghai Library and the “Six Dynasties Jiankang project of Nanjing University as examples, the feasibility of the above functional requirement framework and implementation solutions are demonstrated.
